Staff

The head of the European Ozone Research Coordinating Unit is Dr Neil Harris who performed the statistical trends analysis of ozone data for the International Ozone Trends Panel. The senior scientist is Professor John Pyle who is on secondment from the University of Cambridge, Department of Chemistry. Professor Pyle's research involves computer modelling of the atmosphere and analysis of field data.

Mr Joe Farman, one of the discoverers of the Antarctic ozone hole, joined the European Ozone Research Coordinating Unit since retiring from the British Antarctic Survey.

All the scientists are involved in international programmes and assessments, including the United Nations Environment Programme / World Meteorolgical Organisation ozone assessments and the reports for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and are also members of the United Kingdom Stratospheric Ozone Review Group.

The European Ozone Research Coordinating Unit has one Project Mangager and Support Scientist: Dr Martin Streibel and one Adminstrative Project Manager: Miss Rebecca Penkett

The European Ozone Research Coordinating Unit consults widely with scientists of international repute; consultants include Professor Ulrich Schmidt, Dr Jean-Pierre Pommereau and Dr R. Anthony Cox.
